2010 LEADERSHIP AMERICA
BEYOND BARRIERS – BLURRED BOUNDARIES
Leading in an Interconnected World

Session I
The Economy: Conflicting Theories, Collaborating Solutions…Connecting the Dots
February 21- 23
Dallas, Texas

The agenda featured conversations with bankers, economists and leaders in the corporate and business community discussing the various facets of the ongoing economic uncertainties. The interactive, leadership workshop enabled the participants to master the art of relationship building, harness the power of collaboration, and bring their passions, brains, and backgrounds to the tables where critical issues get decided.

Session II
Health Care: Prescriptions for What Ails Us

May 2-4
Atlanta, Georgia

The health and well-being of every citizen are concerns of all leaders across every discipline and profession. Understanding the total spectrum and the complexities of health care- from policy-making to cost effective delivery, including the side-bar issues of stem cell research, genome medicine, telemedicine and other emerging medical technologies- will be the backdrop for this session. Participants will also explore how their leadership skills and their own particular leadership styles can, and should, impact and influence health care issues in their own spheres of influence.

Session III
Education: Is our Nation’s Education System Relevant in a Global Society?

September 12-14
Washington, DC

The dynamic forces of technology innovations and economic downturn are dramatically changing the education institutions and the ways we learn. This session will emphasize the importance of leaders’ life- long commitments to continuing education. Just as important are the leaders’ commitments to developing an educated workforce in their professional arenas. The participants will have opportunities to engage in conversations with experts in distance learning and other break-through education technologies; academic innovators in the public and private sectors; and other related stakeholders regarding our nation’s education conundrums.
